Job Summary :

The George Washington University Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). The IMC serves patients who require a higher level of care than a general medical-surgical unit but do not need the intensive care of an ICU. This role involves providing patient-centered care, close monitoring, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring intermediate care, including those with complex medical conditions and those transitioning from the ICU.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and promptly respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety standards.
