As an Horticultural Sales Manager focusing on horticulture and agriculture/landscape markets, you will drive commercial success in North America, managing a diverse customer portfolio with over $10M in product revenue. Your role is pivotal in expanding our market presence, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring profitability across all markets in your area.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience within Sales & Account Management
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
Experience within the Agriculture & Horticulture market(s)
Knowledge & understanding of specialty minerals or other raw materials
Strong business acumen and technical aptitude
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit
Proficiency in common IT tools (Excel, Word, G Suite); Salesforce experience a plus
Ability to work and influence cross functionally amongst Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Product Management, & Customer Service
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Management & Growth
Manage and grow existing customer base
Engage prospects to expand customer portfolio
Drive business and market development in the horticultural segment
2. Strategic Planning & Execution
Contribute to commercial strategy development, including distribution management
Participate in annual sales planning, budgeting, and mid-term planning
Execute commercial roadmaps for your segment, products, and geography
3. Performance & Analysis
Analyze sales trends and prepare management reports
Set and monitor performance goals
Ensure customer satisfaction and identify growth opportunities
4. Account Management
Negotiate contracts and identify profitability improvement opportunities
Apply pricing policies and manage customer relationships
Support Key Account Managers in adjacent markets when needed
5. Revenue & Cash Management
Manage volumes, revenues, and pricing strategies
Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and payment terms
Understand the competitive environment and anticipate competitive responses
6. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to safety rules and educate teams on preventive measures
