Required Experience : 2–5 years of experience in an A&E consulting or construction management environment.
Required Education : Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.

Position Overview :
The Project Engineer provides technical, administrative, and operational support to design and engineering teams across multiple projects. Working closely with Department Heads and the Director of Engineering, this role is critical in maintaining project organization, ensuring timely communication, and supporting both technical execution and business operations. The Project Engineer assists with project coordination, Unanet reporting, RFI tracking, and serves as a liaison between operations and the overhead team to enhance efficiency and accountability across the firm.
Major Duties :
Project & Technical Support
- Support Project Managers, Department Heads, and the Director of Engineering in planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities. Activities include but are not limited to :
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) adherence
Subconsultant engagement and contractingMonthly progress reporting and invoicingInternal and external coordination meetings and minutes distributionQuality Management Program (QMP) adherenceConstruction submittals and RFIs during Construction Phase Services (CPS), ensuring timely and complete responses from key personnel.Support Department Heads and Director of Engineering in tracking and follow-up for other tasks as assigned internally and externally.Operational & Reporting Support
Run and distribute Unanet reports for project tracking, workload, utilization, and performance metrics.Support Department Heads in monitoring budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.Serve as a communication liaison between project operations and overhead departments (Accounting, HR, BD, and Administration) to ensure clarity, consistency, and responsiveness.Coordinate “Lessons Learned” sessions and compile project highlights for inclusion in Business Development and marketing materials.Administrative & Meeting Support
Take notes during weekly department and coordination meetings to ensure all tasking and action items are documented and assigned.Follow up with responsible personnel to verify completion of assigned tasks and deliverables.Maintain organized project correspondence and ensure all project-related emails are acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner.Prepare project documentation, internal reports, and progress updates for leadership review.Assist the Accounting, HR, and Contracts departments by ensuring operational tasks are completed, including invoice approvals, monthly report quality control, and support for mid-year and year-end deadlines etc.Client & Stakeholder Interface
Facilitate communication with clients, contractors, and subconsultants as directed by project leadership.Support project leaders in maintaining clear, professional, and timely communication with external stakeholders.Qualifications :
Proficiency in Unanet , ACC Build , Procore , Microsoft Office , and Adobe Acrobat .Experience with AutoCAD or Revit preferred but not required.Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities under deadlines.Experience supporting Construction Phase Services, including RFI / submittal processes.Familiarity with A&E project management workflows, documentation standards, and reporting systems.Knowledge of government or public-sector project delivery (VA, municipal, or education).High attention to detail, proactive communication style, and strong sense of accountability.
