We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Attorney with a focus on Employment Law to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for a candidate passionate about labor and employment issues, and who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in litigation, labor and employment law, law and motion practice, and mediation. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile cases, providing the right candidate with an excellent opportunity to further develop their legal skills and career.
Responsibilities :
1. Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in labor and employment litigation.
2. Provide advice and counsel to employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations, including anti-discrimination laws and wage and hour laws.
3. Conduct research, prepare legal documents, and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to labor and employment.
4. Draft and review various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, contracts and legal memoranda.
5. Handle pretrial disputes and conduct depositions and discovery.
6. Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
7. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes in the best interest of the client.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current labor and employment law trends, court decisions, and new legislation that may affect the client's business.
9. Participate in legal projects as required, including compliance audits and internal investigations.
10. Collaborate with a team of attorneys and paralegals to ensure effective and efficient case management.
Qualifications :
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a member in good standing with the state bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney with a focus on labor and employment law.
4. Proven experience in litigation, law and motion practice, and mediation.
5. Exceptional analytical skills and a strong understanding of the complexities of labor and employment laws.
6. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex disputes.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and understandable manner.
8. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple cases simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
9. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
11. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative mindset.
12. Strong client service skills, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and professionalism.
