[job_card.job_description]Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and author manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Leverages understanding of materials and processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Works within a model based engineering environment (3DX). Position requires periodic travel. PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software proficiency On vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems Jet engine integration, service and maintenance familiarity Wire harness and interconnect installation / integration Aircraft fuel systems Development / protype / first article, program support (new product introduction) Metallic part machining working knowledge 3DX, Catia V5 and Delmia software usage Evaluation of designs with respect to design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) considerations Manufacturing assembly planning Aviation Maintenance Experience, A & P license or similar STEM type degree
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE) :
- Must have an active secret clearance
- 4+ years of recent experience AUTHORING Manufacturing assembly work instructions, including new instructions, modifications and reworks.
- Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration
- Aircraft structures assembly
- Hands-on production / shop floor support (Direct ownership and support of specific manufacturing operations as well as interface with touch-labor employees)
- Reviews of engineering technical drawings and models
- Manufacturing assembly work instruction authoring
- Aircraft sub-systems assembly and integration
