Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN with Level 1 ICU experience and BLS / ACLS certification for a Magnet Level I Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
Work in a 38-bed PACU unit at a short-term acute care, teaching, Magnet hospitalPatient population includes adults, occasionally adolescents, and geriatricsSurgical patients include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant (excluding open heart and liver transplants)Shifts are 4x10 hours, Monday through Friday from 12 : 00 to 22 : 30, with rotating start times as neededNo weekend, holiday, or on-call requirementsFloating may be required within scope to meet facility needsEMR system used is Epic; Epic experience required for certain unitsUnit supported by dedicated PCT and transport teamsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyScrub color requirement is navy blueParking is available for $15 per day or $70 per monthNo more than 7 days of requested time off are permitted per 13-week contract; no time off allowed during the first week of orientationPermanent employees must wait one year before returning as a travelerTravelers may stay for up to 18 months with a 3-month break after the periodRequirements
Active MO or Compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience requiredBLS and ACLS certifications requiredCritical care skills required : Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition / management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patientsExperience with adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center requiredMust reside more than 75 miles from facility (no local candidates accepted)Pending license acceptedBenefits
