Laborer
Tetra Tech is adding a Laborer to our Landfill Gas Construction team. The team offers a unique work environment that specializes in a wide variety of projects where we are drilling for natural gas on landfills, installing new piping to collect the gas, fusing and welding HDPE pipe allowing the gas to be transported to the power plant. Your role will involve safely working in extreme weather conditions and on very odorous project sites, walking long distances on steeply sloped landfills and outdoor terrain, doing heavy, manual work, helping to maneuver, cut, fuse, and HDPE liner, lifting a minimum of 50 pounds on a non-consistent basis, cleaning up work areas, cleaning and fueling vehicles and equipment as necessary, operating general site vehicles and equipment, communicating with clients and peers in a professional manner, being available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays if necessary, assisting site supervisors with the materials and equipment needs and helping to collect supplies for projects, understanding operation and maintenance of landfill gas (LFG) and landfill fluids collection systems, performing maintenance on system components to ensure or restore proper operation and compliance, working around heavy construction equipment, operating and driving a company vehicle for extended periods of time, traveling up to 3 weeks at a time, potentially staying in motels / hotels, rooming with a coworker, and conducting activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. Additional duties as required.
Qualifications include any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the job, 1+ year of experience in decentralized business in construction, outdoor labor, mining, and farming industries, experience on landfill or refuse collection a plus, valid driver's license or Class A CDL to operate company vehicle for extended periods of time, a team player with the ability and willingness to pitch in as needed in areas outside core responsibilities and expertise, ability to frequently lift or carry containers, poly pipe, shovel garbage and loose material, work in and around leachate, or loose materials to truck, which may result in twisting, pulling, pushing and bending, depending on the material and collection vehicle type, and ability to climb, bend, or stand for an extended period of time.
Due to the nature of the position being offered, this offer is contingent upon successful completion of the following : a background investigation if required, maintaining a safe driving record as defined by Tetra Tech's Vehicle Safety program, and valid proof of completed OSHA 10 Hour Construction certificate as defined by Tetra Tech.

Pay is commensurate with experience. A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
