Management Responsibility
This position is non-management and reports to a supervisor or executive level.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from a recognized Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or an equivalent authority, or must be eligible for licensure in South Carolina or be a senior student expected to graduate within three months.
Certification Requirements
Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina is required, or eligibility for licensure. BLS certification is mandatory. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired before June 2016 may possess Certified Respiratory Therapist status. Candidates from June 2016 onward must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist threshold and complete the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam will result in termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are required for work in the Children's Hospital before independent practice in the NICU and PICU.

Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting is crucial. Strong communication, computer literacy, and organizational skills are essential.
