What you will do :

• Drive new product development initiatives from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment with customer requirements
• Coordinate manufacturing trials to transition prototypes into full-scale production, including off-shift support when necessary
• Interpret trial data to evaluate cost, performance, and quality metrics, and refine designs based on findings
• Engage with sales and marketing teams to integrate customer feedback and enhance product performance
• Research emerging technologies and market trends to identify risks and opportunities impacting profitability
• Facilitate operational scale-up efforts to ensure efficient, high-quality production of new products
• Assess alternative raw materials to improve performance and reduce costs, partnering with Procurement to define specifications
• Support cost-saving initiatives by qualifying suppliers, leveraging pricing opportunities, and contributing to sourcing strategies
• Serve as a technical resource for operations and quality teams to troubleshoot complex product or manufacturing challenges
• Develop advanced testing protocols to promote continuous improvement and product stability
• Manage project milestones and maintain alignment with broader business objectives through effective stakeholder communication

What you will need to be successful :

• Bachelor’s degree in paper science, chemical engineering, coatings engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in coating, chemical, or related industries; exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered
• Background in manufacturing, R&D, or technical support involving complex products
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, and adaptability
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities
• Skilled in planning and executing trials, providing clear guidance to technicians and operators
• Confident decision-maker when leading trials or resolving technical issues
• Ability to lead small to mid-sized projects aligned with business objectives
