Learn about the Wireless Internet Service provider Industry while working with a close-knit team, travel throughout the Midwest, and become a pivotal player on our team! If you enjoy physical labor, working outdoors, learning about new technology, and working with your hands- we may have a great position for you! Wisper is seeking a full-time non-exempt Construction Tower Technician 1 (weekly local travel) to join our Network Construction Team . Responsibilities for this role include numerous manual labor tasks involved with the installation, service, and decommission of wireless internet service tower equipment throughout our network. In this position, the tasks will be assigned by the Tower Technician Lead based on individual job sites. Training will include best practices and safety standards. This position may require off duty hours work to be performed as needed by the department. This position does require up to 70% overnight travel within our Midwest network.

Construction Tower Tech I - Travel Position

Hours : 7 AM Starts 40 + hours / week

Pay : $19 - $21 per hour

Essential Job Functions

  • Climb towers up to 1000 ft.
  • Install / maintain wireless Internet equipment
  • Mount Internet equipment & relay data cables to each device
  • Install battery backups & grounding systems for equipment
  • Prepare equipment for installation
  • Follow training protocols & safety briefings
  • Other duties as directed

Job Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to be added to the Company auto insurance policy
  • Must successfully complete required tower training within90 days of hire
  • Obtain & maintain the provided training certifications per industry standards
  • Ability to climb towers up to 1000 ft.
  • Work after normal business hours & weekends as needed
  • Overnight travel up to 1 week at a time
  • Legally authorized to work in country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future

    • Desired Skills & Competencies

  • 1+ year demonstrated Tower Tech Tier 1 performance or equivalent preferred, Demonstrate personal accountability in prioritization, Ability to handle multiple interruptions & adjustments to priorities, Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships, Demonstrate the desire to learn, supported with a love of technology

    • Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced environment with multiple changes to schedules & fluctuating priorities, work is performed primarily outdoors & in all weather conditions & at roof-top / tower-level heights and in tight spaces.

    • Physical Requirements : X-Heavy : Lifting 25+ lbs.

    Must be able to pass a Background Check, Motor Vehicle record check and a Drug Screen panel successfully.
