MILL OPERATOR SUMMARY :

Chance Aluminum, based in Williamsport, PA, focuses on aluminum production as the domestic supplier for AA Metals, a Florida-based master distributor with global operations in the United States, Colombia, Turkey, Germany, and China. We are a safety focused industrial manufacturing facility looking to expand our team of dedicated, goal-driven individuals.

We have an immediate opportunity for Mill Operator(s) at our Williamsport facility. We're looking for a results-oriented professional s with an exemplary track record of success in safety and collaboration to join our team.

MILL OPERATOR PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION :

Responsible for the safe operation of aluminum rolling mill, processing material from and to coils. Responsibility also includes ensuring safety and productivity goals are met while minimizing downtime and producing a quality product.

MILL OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Operating rolling mill(s) in accordance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Change rolls used in production and assist other Mill Operators with roll changes and threading.
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficient operation and product quality.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify any issues or potential maintenance needs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor repairs, to keep machinery running smoothly.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance staff to resolve any issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate production records, including output quantities, downtime, and quality control checks through both manual and electronic data collection systems.
• Collaborate with other team members to optimize production processes and achieve production targets.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Participate in training programs and skill development initiatives to enhance your knowledge and proficiency in mill operations.
• Operate equipment including but not limited to forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Assists in writing and reviewing of operational job safety analysis (JSAs) on plant equipment; improves procedures and collaborates on new JSAs based on observations and experiences.

MILL OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS :

MILL OPERATOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS :

Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Physical conditions for positions : sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, grasp, ascend / descend stairs, maneuver within tight spaces, routinely lift up to 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, excellent mobility, good hearing, manual dexterity, good balance, ability to work a minimum of 8 hours, and wear required personal protective equipment. All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

MILL OPERATOR WORK ENVIRONMENT :

Working with and near electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines, and mobile equipment.
