Job Purpose :
Responsible for setting up the dining room for service, maintaining table cleanliness during the guests meal, final cleaning and reset of tables. The Bar back works in support of the beverage team to ensure adequate supplied are on hand and assistance is provided as directed. Bussers work in support of the service team to ensure that the guests needs are being met.
Barback Duties & Responsibilities
- Understand and perform to the expectations of the Bouchon Service, Beverage and Wine manuals.
- Maintain the cleanliness and stocking of the Bar area.
- Assist server in presenting the bar menu and wine list for guests’ perusal, take guest orders and serve drinks in support of restaurant standards.
- Communicate with bartender or sommelier to ensure the most pleasurable dining experience possible. Alert management to any guest dissatisfactions or areas of potential conflict.
- As directed, work as a member of the Bar team to ensure that guest requests can be fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Monitor stock levels of liquor, wine, drinks and mis en place. Inform Beverage Manager of needs. Replenish and stock as necessary.
- Ensure equipment is kept clean an in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment. Keep all service stations / areas clean and always organized.
- Communicate information to the Bartender in a prompt fashion which will allow the team members to respond as necessary and work together as a team.
- Participate in Pre-Shift meetings, asking questions about menu items or wine choices that are new or may be unclear.
- Welcome all guests and ensure they are given responsive, professional and gracious service at all times.
- Be able to properly manage time in order to multitask and work efficiently

Busser Duties & Responsibilities :
Promptly greet guests as they are seated and offer water.Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.Between seating’s; promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.Stock and maintain service stations with appropriate items to clean and reset tables.Upkeep of the dining room; clean floors, shelves, tables, chairs, booths, windows, etc.Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes. Clean and stock as needed.Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.Thank guests as they are leavingBe available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.Final break down of the dining room at the end of service.Working Conditions and Expectations :

High school diploma or equivalent.Customer service and / or restaurant experience preferred.Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.Have working knowledge of food menu.Food Handlers certificate requiredPhysical Requirements :
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) and work in multiple level building.Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver items that may weigh up to 25 pounds.This position is for BOTH a Barback role and Busser role.
