Drip administration

IV starts

Phlebotomy

Cardiac rhythm interpretation

Description :

This role involves working in a 12-bed Intensive Care Unit.

It operates as a Level IV Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center.

The facility has a total of 69 beds.

Ages of patients range from neonates to geriatrics, with various illnesses, primarily adults.

Patient ratios range from 1 : 5, with up to 6 on occasion based on acuity.

There is a support structure in place that includes a Nursing Assistant, with a ratio of 1 : 12.

The ED does not have a titled Charge Nurse; the resource nurse or lead RN serves as a resource.

Phlebotomy will be performed at the bedside by ED RNs.

Respiratory Therapy is available in-house 24 / 7.

A Hospitalist is also available in-house 24 / 7.

The unit utilizes bedside and nursing station telemetry; there is no dedicated telemetry technician.

Charting is done using an electronic system, and equipment includes GE monitors and Alaris systems.

Floating to other units is not expected.

Scheduling requires a weekend rotation every other week.

Time off requests are typically approved up to 7 days, but must consider staffing needs.

No on-call duties are required.

Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs.

Scrub colors are not restricted; any color is acceptable.
