Patient Care Technician (PCT) Responsibilities

Assist with daily living activities including hygiene, grooming, mobility, and meals

Support patients in behavioral health and psychiatric units with empathy and respect

Observe, record, and report changes in patient behavior or condition

De-escalate situations using nonviolent crisis intervention techniques when needed

Collaborate closely with nursing and clinical staff to ensure patient safety and comfort

Take and document vital signs accurately

Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for all patients

Uphold infection control, safety, and facility protocols

Participate in ongoing training and adhere to facility guidelines

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

Current CPR / BLS certification

Minimum of 12 months of experience in behavioral health, psych, or related care setting

Must pass a Central Abuse Registry check prior to assignment

Strong observation, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist with mobility as needed

Reliable, compassionate, and calm under pressure
