Director of Nursing (DON)
Cedar Hills Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team at our skilled nursing facility located in Clemmons, NC. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment for both residents and staff.
Position Summary :
The Director of Nursing will manage all aspects of the nursing department, including clinical operations, staffing, care planning, compliance, and quality improvement. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and strategic leader with strong clinical knowledge and proven success in long-term care or post-acute settings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise, manage, and evaluate all nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)
- Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure delivery of quality patient care
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Direct nursing care planning, admissions, discharges, and care transitions
- Collaborate with medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other departments to support resident outcomes
- Ensure accurate documentation, charting, and record-keeping practices
- Monitor staffing needs, scheduling, and retention strategies
- Participate in facility quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for nursing personnel
- Monitor budgets and control nursing department expenditures
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and facility leadership
Qualifications :
Current RN license in the state of North Carolina (or eligible for reciprocity)Minimum 35 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care settingProven experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant DON, or Nurse ManagerStrong understanding of nursing regulations, clinical standards, and compliance requirementsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build and lead an effective team while maintaining high staff moraleProficient in care planning, clinical systems, and EMR documentationCPR certification required; additional certifications a plusStrong organizational and critical-thinking skillsWhy Join Us :
