Staff Engineer – AI & Gen AI

We are scouting for an experienced Staff Engineer to drive innovation across AI initiatives, with a special emphasis on NLP solutions. As a Staff Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Gen AI at Egnyte by defining technical strategy, overseeing complex machine learning architectures, and ensuring seamless integration and deployment of Gen AI solutions into our platform and applications at scale. You will mentor and guide a small engineering team while providing expertise in state‑of‑the‑art AI / ML practices, ensuring a robust production pipeline and the professional management of models.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Help lead the technical strategy and execution for AI projects across the organization.
• Design, deploy, and manage the lifecycle of AI / ML models, including retraining and monitoring for continuous improvement within our solution.
• Design and drive Gen AI features on peta‑byte scale datasets.
• Drive innovation in NLP and other ML solutions, ensuring alignment with Egnyte’s business goals.
• Architect, develop and oversee scalable, production‑ready AI systems.
• Provide technical mentorship to the AI / ML engineering team, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Conduct in‑depth research and stay abreast of advancements in Gen AI and deep learning technologies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product, to evaluate business requirements and determine optimal AI solutions.
• Review code, offer best practices, and ensure the delivery of high‑quality solutions.
• Represent Egnyte’s technical excellence through publications, presentations, and participation in industry events.

COMPENSATION

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $190k – $250k annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job‑related skills, knowledge, and / or experience. During the interview and / or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
