We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our clients team in Troy, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing while adhering to company policies and legal requirements. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality support to both the payroll function and the broader accounting team.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the timekeeping and job costing systems to ensure accurate data collection for payroll processing.
- Prepare monthly union reports and conduct annual union audits.
- Perform manual payroll entries and ensure timely processing.
- Handle new employee entries, employee updates, and terminations in payroll and timekeeping systems.
- Process weekly multi-union, multi-state payroll in-house with precision.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate payroll records.
- Collaborate with the accounting department and provide team support as needed.
- Assist the controller with special projects and assignments.
- Adhere to company policies regarding quality, environmental, and safety standards while complying with relevant regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational and attention-to-detail abilities.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Advanced mathematical and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and relevant accounting software.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including union payroll processing.
- Experience with multi-business unit payroll systems and multi-state payroll operations.
