ABOUT THE POSTION :

We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fitter to join our team in the steel industry. This role involves the fabrication fitting and welding of steel components based on job specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented safety-conscious and experienced in welding and fitting operations. You will be responsible for interpreting work orders preparing materials and using various tools and equipment to produce high-quality steel components.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities :

• Plan work procedures by reviewing job orders blueprints and instructions.
• Gather required tools materials and equipment based on job specifications.
• Fabricate and repair steel parts and structures using cutting burning and welding techniques (e.g. MIG TIG Stick).
• Fit assemble and tack weld components in preparation for final welding.
• Monitor welding and fitting processes to avoid overheating warping or other material damage.
• Operate overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment to move and position steel components.
• Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting fitting or welding.
• Identify and verify materials for correct size grade and heat numbers.
• Maintain tools equipment and work area in a clean and organized manner.
• Report faulty equipment defective materials or safety concerns to a supervisor promptly.
• Participate in housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Attend safety and continuous improvement meetings as scheduled.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding job progress issues and improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
