About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 36 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 1 year of experience required

License : Current and valid nursing license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS

Must-Have :

• MedSurg, Tele, Peds experience
• Wide skill set due to variety of patient age and diagnoses
• Ability to titrate drips, including but not limited to Insulin, Lasix, and Heparin

Description :

This position entails delivering care in a MedSurg / Peds unit.

Patients may be acute or chronic, ranging from pediatric to geriatric.

Common diagnoses include respiratory conditions, infections, GI issues, alcohol intoxication / withdrawal, liver disease, and diabetes-related complications.

The unit has a maximum of 25 beds, with a recent patient census of 12-14.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4-5 during the day and 1 : 5-6 at night.

In critical situations, the nurse may only care for 1-2 patients.

Nursing coordinators will be available for assistance.

RNs are required to read and interpret telemetry; there are no monitor techs on the unit.

There may be occasions to float to other departments, but tasks will remain within the scope of practice.

Nurses are expected to assist during weekends, covering 2 out of every 6 weekends minimum.

Holidays may also require staffing as needed.

The preferred candidate will have previous travel experience but strong local candidates may be considered.

Standard scrub colors can be worn.

This role does not have on-call or standby requirements.

No charge nurse exists on each shift; a house supervisor / coordinator is present.

Nurse aides / patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1 : 12.

Cancellation policies allow for the hospital to cancel shifts as needed throughout the assignment.

This position requires a strong ability to manage diverse patient needs efficiently and effectively.
