Job Summary
The Director, Event Sales is responsible for driving sales and revenue growth by promoting and selling the venue, catering services, and other add‑on experiences. The role requires expert knowledge of sales strategies, building strong client relationships, and ensuring successful execution of events. It demands dynamic communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to deliver exceptional client experiences.

Previous Experience
Minimum 6 years in catering and / or event sales, operations, or event planning management in off‑site catering, hotel, or cultural attraction venue (8+ years preferred).Working knowledge of Tripleseat is a plus.All educational backgrounds eligible; must be 18 or older.Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Acquisition
Develop and implement strategies to sell venue and catering services to new and returning clients.Analyze markets to identify untapped revenue opportunities.Prospect and secure new business through cold calling, networking, and outreach.Conduct site tours and menu tastings to showcase event capabilities.Solicit, negotiate, and secure signed agreements via defined sales processes.Plan and upsell functions, including space, timing, equipment, menus, themes, decorations.Respond promptly to client requests and ensure satisfaction.Client Relationship Management
Serve as primary contact throughout sales and planning.Communicate transparently with clients through process.Prepare and manage venue and catering contracts, BEOs, diagrams, and documents.Build strong relationships with venue departments and understand policies.Maintain positive relationships to encourage repeat business.Conduct post‑event follow‑ups to engage clients.Vendor & Resource Management
Communicate with vendors, negotiate prices.Maintain active vendor resource list.Ensure vendor compliance with venue guidelines.Event Coordination
Develop detailed event plans : timelines and floorplans.Walk event spaces before events to ensure readiness.Manage last‑minute changes with a solutions focus.Collaborate with operations, culinary, and other departments.Operational Excellence
Accurately document client contracts, BEOs, and details.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.Maintain clean, safe, organized environment.Uphold company policies and procedures.Attend events to ensure seamless execution.Financial Management
Collect and process payments per company policies.Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales budgets.Analyze sales and inventory to maximize opportunities.Review invoices, bills, accounting documents for accuracy.Understand menu and event cost structure for profitability.Reporting & Analysis
Report weekly / monthly sales via Tripleseat.Analyze sales trends and client feedback.Use data to adjust strategies and increase conversion rates.Social Responsibility
Promote inclusive & supportive approach within unit.Lead by example on sustainability / conservation efforts.Engage in community activities and giving back opportunities.Other Responsibilities
