TravelNurseSource is working with Mindlance Health to find a qualified Stepdown RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68101!

• Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSSRadius Rule : 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.
• Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.
• Fingernail policy : Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract
• RN's - Pass / Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated
• # of Beds : 18- Ratios : 1 : 4, 1 : 3 for post surgical patients in the first 24 hours- Required Certifications : BLS, ACLS- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Patients who require intermediate care and downgraded CVICU patients. Unit heavily supports the thoracic program, EP, cath lab, and structural heart. Cath Lab, CVAs, CHF, A fib RVR and any other cardiac and vascular related diagnosis.- Experience or 'Must have' skills : 1 year of experience with this patient population- Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : Amio, nitro, nicardipine, epi, cardizem, and multiple other medications for blood pressure management- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? : Yes - rare to take assignment- Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? : Yes- 1 : 18- Hospitalist & / or Intensivist in house 24 / 7? In the ICU 24 / 7? : Yes hospitalist and intensivist in house with Cardiology on call after hours - RT in ICU 24 / 7? : Yes- RT Equipment? Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot? : BiPAP, CPAP, to Nasal Cannula- Are there Tele / Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors? : Remote tele techs, tele hardwired and tele box capabilities. RNs must read and interpret.- Shifts & Scheduling : 0630-1900, 1830-0700; Manager does schedule, no block or self-scheduling- Weekend Requirements : Every other- Is there a call or standby requirement? : N / A- Floating Requirements : Will float to all same level and lower levels of acuity- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy Blue- How many shifts of unit / department specific orientation? : Tailored to needs and experience, 1-2 shifts on unitRadius Rule : 50 miles AND candidate may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and / or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.Entered on : 11 / 14 / 2024 Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks. Charting BSN License to Trauma Level : 1 Care Shift Notes : 12 hr nights Required , BLS, NIHSS Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract
