[job_card.job_description]Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including psychiatric history, mental status exams, and assessment of psychosocial functioning Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders utilizing evidence-based treatment plans for patients with acute, chronic, and complex conditions Prescribe, titrate, or discontinue psychotropic medications within licensure scope Deliver brief, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions (CBT, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing) Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, primary care, and nursing teams in care planning and treatment team rounds Complete accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, progress notes, medication orders, and discharge summaries Monitor treatment response, side effects, and medication adherence; order and interpret relevant laboratory or diagnostic tests Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment, including management of suicidal or homicidal ideation and coordination of higher levels of care as needed Participate in specialized areas such as electroconvulsive therapy (observation / support role), substance use disorder treatment (including buprenorphine waiver), management of severe neurocognitive disorders, forensic psychiatric evaluations, child / adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and group therapy facilitation Active New York Nurse Practitioner license required Board certification in Psychiatry required Flexibility for scheduling is non-negotiable Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Connect with fellow locum professionals through online forums, networking events, and support groups, fostering camaraderie, collaboration, and shared learning experiences.
