American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a pediatric oncology unit caring for patients from newborn to young adult, requiring current MD or compact RN license and specialized oncology training.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 20-bed pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant unit
  • Patient population includes pediatric oncology and hematology patients from newborn through age 25
  • Care includes solid tumors, leukemias, bone marrow transplants, infusion therapies, and clinical trial patients
  • Rotating 12-hour shifts (7a-7p) with every other weekend required
  • Unit may also care for general med-surg pediatric patients as needed
  • No call required for travelers
  • Uses Epic EMR (Beacon and Ambulatory modules)
  • Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and biotherapy, caring for hematology and oncology patients, and supporting bone marrow transplant procedures
  • Will participate in care of patients enrolled in cancer clinical trials
  • First time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Orientation dates are available periodically
  • Holiday coverage is required based on unit needs
  • Allows local candidates at the same rate except for specified counties
  • Scrub or dress code will be provided during orientation

  • Active MD or compact RN license
  • BLS and PALS certifications required
  • APHON chemotherapy / biotherapy provider course or certificate required
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience in IMC or PICU settings
  • Experience working in a hospital with at least 500 beds is required
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
