Qualifications

Training and ExperienceAny combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of college-level education with extensive and demonstrated (paid or volunteer) experience in working with limited or non-English speaking students and adults and ability to speak, read, and write in a designated second language. Knowledge ofCorrect oral and written usage of English and Spanish.Student guidance principles and practices.District and State testing requirements, rules, and regulations.Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary at a level to serve as an English language model.Basic filing and record-keeping techniques.Operation of a computer and related applications.Needs, problems, and experiences of students and their families.District graduation requirements and college entrance requirements.Community resources for educational, health, and welfare services.Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
