Psychiatric RN Job Details

Location : Holyoke, Massachusetts (01040) – Located in the scenic Pioneer Valley, close to outdoor recreation and cultural attractions

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing

Unit : Adolescent Psychiatric Unit

Schedule : Full-time, 8-hour day shifts (7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM), every other weekend and holiday required

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours / week

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026)

Openings : 3 Psychiatric RN positions available

On-Call : No call required

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2100 - $2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts

Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience (adolescent mental health preferred)

CPR certification required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to float to similar or lower acuity behavioral health units

Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Psychiatric Nurse Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adolescent psychiatric patients and their families / legal guardians

Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment in accordance with behavioral health and psychiatric nursing standards

Participate actively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team

Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plans and nursing interventions

Serve as charge nurse as needed (charge nurse duties included in standard rate)

Utilize trauma-informed care, recovery models, and evidence-based psychiatric nursing practices

Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and professionalism in crisis situations

Build therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
