Responsibilities Work in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital Patient ratio is 1 : 2 in a large L&D setting Float required to antepartum and postpartum units as needed On-call requirement : 12-24 hours per 4 week period depending on shift pattern Options for 36 or 48 hour contracts with night shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 Special procedures include cerclage, version, C-section, PPTL, external and internal monitoring, AROM, meconium deliveries, C-hyst, neonatal palliative care, nitrous administration, massive transfusion protocol, and malignant hyperthermia management Uses Cerner EMR Purple scrubs are provided Responsible for managing labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care for maternal and neonatal populations Required to float to antepartum and postpartum units to meet facility needs First-time travelers are accepted for this position Travelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before a break is required Perm employees may return as travelers if separated for 12 or more months Must be fully compliant, ready to work, and able to complete all onboarding requirements promptly Holiday scheduling is determined by facility policy; no guaranteed weekends off Parking is free on-site Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration) BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (NRP must be in hand before start) Minimum 1 year of L&D experience in a large unit or facility Fetal heart monitoring and circulating experience required Experience with postpartum, baby nurse, and meconium deliveries required COVID vaccination required, with medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation RTO requests over 7 days must be approved; no RTO first or last contract week or during major holidays No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility Driver's License required for compliance Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-640018.
