The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support elementary students during a parental leave of absence. In this role, you will provide high-quality classroom instruction, maintain a positive and engaging learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues to support student academic and social-emotional growth.
This position is ideal for an educator who is adaptable, committed to student success, and eager to contribute to a collaborative, data-driven teaching team.
What You’ll Do
Provide classroom instruction and coverage in various elementary classrooms during the assignment period.
Establish and maintain a joyful, structured classroom culture.
Implement rigorous, aligned curriculum and use data to guide instructional decisions.
Communicate student progress with families to foster authentic home-school partnerships.
Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to refine lessons, assessments, and instructional practices.
Apply frequent feedback to improve teaching effectiveness.
Use technology, including Google products, to enhance communication and instructional responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) and ability to secure the appropriate teaching license.
Prior experience in elementary education and / or urban school settings preferred.
Knowledge of data-driven instruction and curriculum development.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
Commitment to professional growth and instructional excellence.
