Network Engineer IV

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and communications sector, is seeking a Network Engineer IV to join their team. As a Network Engineer IV, you will be part of the Technology Services department supporting network infrastructure and operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, proactive communication, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Network Observability Engineer

Location: Baltimore, MD

Pay Range: $63-65/hr

What's the Job?

• Collaborate with network infrastructure teams to evaluate and recommend proactive management tools for maintaining a stable network environment.
• Configure and maintain management tools for real-time and historical visibility into network faults and performance metrics.
• Update and manage software versions, working with vendors to resolve deficiencies and ensure optimal tool performance.
• Leverage software development skills to create, modify, and maintain custom scripts and programs that enhance automation and infrastructure visibility.
• Research and resolve management tool issues promptly to ensure continuous network operations and proactive visibility into infrastructure health.

What's Needed?

• Proficiency with UNIX/RedHat Linux systems administration.
• Strong understanding of SNMP MIBs, Syslog, NetFlow, TACACS, SNMP Traps, and alerting mechanisms.
• Cisco router & switch configuration
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, Postgres, and Vertica.
• Proficiency in Cisco Products
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently once familiar with the environment.
