Information Technology (IT) Database Administrator

This position is 100% onsite, no remote work.

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a SQL Database Administrator that will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, security, performance, capacity, backup and recovery of the Agency's Microsoft SQL databases. The DBA performs regular database maintenance activities including checking critical databases for availability and performance. This role will be responsible for maintaining consistency in databases across several environments such as development, staging and production.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain database maintenance plans for backups, index rebuild/defrag and database statistics.
• Design, code, and test new applications and changes to existing programs.
• Design and implement databases in accordance to end users information requirements.
• Provide customer support and troubleshoot technical issues in a variety of application environments. This includes being able to research issues related to system configuration, application & database code, and problems with data.
• End-to-end testing of systems for proof of concept work or for troubleshooting purposes.
• Interact with Information Technology and other personnel through the phases of developing and maintaining a software application.
• Compose and maintain documentation of developed software.
• Compliance with established change management procedures.
• Provide support to other Information Technology team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Availability for projects requiring after-hour support.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field preferred.
• High School Diploma and two years of related, verifiable work experience may be substituted for college level education.
• Minimum of 1 years' programming experience in C# is required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience with database programming (MS SQL) and design in a client-server environment is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with a reporting tool, preferably Crystal Reports, is required.
• Minimum of 1 year web-based programming experience is desired.

COMPETENCIES

• Proficiency in T-SQL for querying and data manipulation.
• Understanding of database design and schema creation
• Knowledge of data types, functions, joins, and data manipulation operations
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration features like backup, security and high availability options.
