Board Member for International Education Nonprofit

Oaxaca Youth Empowerment, the largest nonprofit funder of childhood education in Oaxaca, Mexico, seeks a volunteer director for its board.

OYE, a U.S. a 501(c)(3), through its partner in Oaxaca, Centro de Esperanza Infantil, underwrites the education expenses of nearly 600 children and young adults, provides daily meals, psychological services, tutoring, access to medical care, additional services for student families, and more. We are seeking a board director who understands the challenges marginalized families face in educating their children.

Ideal candidates would have a connection to Mexico or Central America, either via family or profession, be proficient in Spanish and English, feel passionate about education as a means to interrupt the cycle of impoverishment, and be willing to dedicate several hours per month to help Oaxaca Youth Empowerment expand its services.
