Position Overview

Grade(s) : 5th – 8th

The Academic Interventionist is responsible for working directly with students to provide tutoring, coaching, goal-setting, and academic case management to achieve measurable improvements in academic performance.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Instructional Intervention
• Develop academic lesson plans based on students' individual learning needs as required : intervention should be engaging as well as enable learning and recall of new knowledge strengthened through different exposures of “doing” (i.e., seeing, hearing, touching, etc.)
• Use data to facilitate students’ improvement and increase engagement as a result of their sustained participation in KIPP’s blended learning programs
• Provide students with daily feedback on mastery performance in character and academics
• Facilitate intervention that is collaborative and is socially-centered, allowing young people to build skills through learning as a team
• Lead small-group tutoring, coaching, goal-setting, and academic case management designed to bridge the gaps in students’ understanding.
• Performs routine administrative office tasks as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, answering the telephone, sending and receiving documents and emails, entering and retrieving data
• Demonstrate strong pedagogy and authentic interest in the academic growth and development of students

KIPP Capital Region offers a competitive salary ranging from $56,000 - $76,669.

Salaries are determined using an equitable compensation scale that accounts for years of experience relevant to the role and longevity within the KIPP network. KIPP Capital Region will evaluate and determine the step / level a new hire will be placed within our teacher salary scale at point of hire.
