Assistant Manager, Genesis Financial Analysis

Location

Purpose

• Serve as liaison between Finance and Genesis Motor America (GMA) departments.
• Supports with GMA financial planning and analysis.
• Helps GMA management with data & analysis to ensure well-informed decision-making.
• Prepares and analyzes GMA financial reports and financial plans.
• Financial advisor to GMA to help them understand areas needing improvement.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist GMA Controller provide financial support for GMA Executive management and department leads
• Assist GMA develop annual targets, budget (BP) and monthly forecasts, analyzing their submitted data reviewing for accuracy, reasonableness, etc.
• Review monthly GMA results vs. BP, Forecast analyzing variances
• Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports reflecting performance vs. budget, forecasts
• Assist with preparation of financial presentation materials for management meetings
• Assess and analyze GMA’s BP, Forecasts and perform ad hoc financial analysis
• Collaborate with GMA’s Keystone program manager and assist with financial impact analysis
• Assist with GMA’s monthly Retail Performance Bonus (RPB) & incentive proposal reviews, providing feedback
• Assist GMA department managers with budget transfers and other budget related inquiries
• Help with reviewing various project proposals ensuring proper approvals in accordance with company procedures

• Prepare monthly GMA financial package for management review
• Act as liaison between GMA and Accounting team to assist with accounting related inquiries
• Perform ad hoc analysis (e.g. Genesis EV related projects) and support other areas, as required
• Review and approve/reject all GMA related PRs, payment requests submitted
• Perform other related duties as opportunities arise.

Authority

• Review/Approve GMA POs/PRs
• This is a support position, focused on delivering day to day tasks and analyses with a degree of autonomy while receiving general instructions and supervision.
• Exercise of discretion and independent judgment directly related to significant management and/or general business operations is not required.

Education

Related Experience

• Five or more years of experience of which at least five years of directly related experience in finance.
• Prior automotive industry related experience is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge

• Thorough knowledge of general and cost accounting methods and principles, including data processing applications (particularly perpetual inventory systems and Microsoft Excel).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to formally present financial information relative to vehicle inventory and cost of sales.
• Possess considerable working knowledge of Excel spreadsheet program and utilize software to automate reporting requirements.
• AS400 and SAP system expertise in areas to include sales & distribution, vehicle costing, warranty, receivables, and sales incentives.
• Knowledge of accounting and standard cost accounting principles and methods.
• Knowledge of SQL, QMF query language, database methods.
• Working knowledge of inventory control.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically.

Certification

• CPA is a plus.
