SCADA Database Senior

The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) team within the Asset Management Innovation and Technology department is hiring a System and Database Senior. In this position, you will provide system support for our water, gas, and electric utility operations. The work that you do is critical to maintaining the data integrity, reliability, compliance, and security of our SCADA systems. Your technical leadership and drive will enable Operations to continuously improve processes, find cost savings, and solve operational challenges through the use and implementation of technology. The systems you will support in this position are integrated with industrial instrumentation and other integrated software solutions, which make up a complex set of hardware and software architectures. This includes, but is not limited to, industrial-level Systems Integration, Industrial/Operations System Implementations, Operations Technology Systems Administration, and Software Programming of Operations Solutions.
Key Focus Areas:
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams to support utility distribution programs, projects, and initiatives using SCADA applications.
- Planning, designing, programming, documenting, and maintaining the OSI Monarch EMS/SCADA system
- System administration across multiple operating systems and hardware, including but not limited to workstations, virtualized servers, and network hardware
- Training System Operators, Engineering, and Field Support personnel in the use of applications associated with the EMS/SCADA systems to ensure network models are up-to-date, and the training simulator is functional
- Develop custom EMS/SCADA displays that enhance the System Operator's situational awareness
- Support the development, testing, and implementation of data integrations for SCADA and other enterprise systems under the guidance of more senior team members.
- Support Colorado Springs Utilities Incident Command Center during large outage events.
- 24x7 Operations Support – On-Call Rotation
Please note that the ability to work extended periods of time to provide operational readiness of the ADMS/OMS will be a required aspect of this position.

You are self-motivated to learn more about SCADA systems and technology, and then use this knowledge to collaborate with operational and field teams to add requested functionality.
Highly desired knowledge/skills/expertise include:
- Advanced knowledge in SCADA/EMS applications (power system modeling, state estimation, contingency analysis, power flow, short-term load forecast, load shed)
- Implementation of new SCADA/EMS systems
- Ability to develop collaboratively or independently as needed
- Experience developing and managing ETL processes to ensure seamless data integration
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting
- Basic skills in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, and Oracle Database
- Knowledge of NERC CIP compliance
- Experience with monitoring and alerting implementation
- Understanding of disaster recovery strategies and topologies
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or computer information systems
