Job Summary : Join our dedicated healthcare team as an Ambulatory Registered Nurse! In this role, you will provide direct patient care, assess and triage patients, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to implement comprehensive care plans. Key Responsibilities :
- Obtain and accurately record patient vital signs; report abnormal values to the treating provider.
- Document a comprehensive patient history (Medical, Surgical, and Social) and conduct focused physical assessments.
- Administer medications and treatments under the guidance of a physician or advanced practice provider (APP).
- Assist with in-office procedures related to clinic specialty, ensuring thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Review and triage incoming test results, manage patient requests and pharmacy renewals, and facilitate call-backs as necessary.
- Utilize resources strategically to achieve patient goals and enhance quality metrics.
- Delegate appropriate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Medical Assistants (MA), according to their licensure.
- Adhere to regulatory agency standards and internal compliance policies.
- Participate in the orientation and education of new staff members.
- Engage in continuous education to maintain up-to-date knowledge in your clinical specialty.
- Provide health education to patients regarding their visit and overall wellness.
Minimum Qualifications :
Associate's degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program.Current New York State RN licensure.Current CPR certification.Preferred certification in a specialty, particularly in an ambulatory setting.Strong customer service and communication skills.Proficient in computer software, with effective written and verbal communication abilities.Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.Experience with electronic health records is preferred.Ability to administer medications via various routes and accurately calculate medication doses.Thank you for your interest in Albany Medical Center!
