In the serene and rustic setting of northern Michigan, you'll inspire the next generation of artists while embracing the beauty and challenges of wilderness living. Position Overview

Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking creative and proactive Social Media Interns who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Social Media Intern, you'll gain valuable hands-on experience creating social media content, especially video, at a world-renowned multidisciplinary arts destination. The Intern will be part of the strategic communications team and will work collaboratively with peers in marketing and digital media.

What You Get To Do

  • Create short form video content for cross platform use (Reels, Shorts, TikTok, etc)
  • Writing social media copy
  • Photography for use on social media as needed

  • Compensation : $2,246

    • What You Need

  • Availability 6 / 21 / 2026 - 8 / 10 / 2026
  • Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate. While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited.
  • Strong interest in Social Media Content
  • Strong Video creation / editing skills
  • Adept at working independently and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable communicating with students, staff, and visiting personnel in person, on the telephone, and over email
  • Strong computer and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Applicant must be able to work extended and varied hours when needed
  • Knowledge and interest in the arts preferred
  • Photography experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere or other video editing software preferred
  • Comfortable with AI integrated technology preferred

  • Two social media video samples, such as TikTok or Youtube videos. Short form video preferred.
  • As part of your application, we request that you upload two videos showcasing your qualifications. Our system does not accept direct video uploads, so please follow these steps :
  • Upload your videos to a platform of your choice (e.g., YouTube, Google Drive, etc.).
  • Create a PDF document containing the links to your videos.
  • Upload the PDF document with your application.

  • Rustic Living : You'll be living in a residence hall, surrounded by the beauty of northern Michigan. Air conditioning is not provided; you may bring your own fan.
  • Embrace the Outdoors : The camp is nestled in a wilderness area, so expect to encounter wildlife and insects as part of the experience. Embracing the natural environment is key to enjoying your time here.
  • Outdoor Work Environment : Many of your duties will involve working outdoors, often for extended periods, so being comfortable in various weather conditions is important.
  • Community and Camaraderie : You'll be part of a tight-knit community where collaboration, creativity, and support are at the forefront. The connections you make here will be lifelong.
