Strong experience with VxWorks and real-time operating systems. Proven experience working in real-time environments with strict timing and reliability constraints. Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification. Proficiency with Git for source control and team collaboration. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience in aerospace, defense, or satellite systems. Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Rally. Experience with hardware / software integration and low-level debugging. Active security clearance or ability to obtain one. Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Staff Software Engineer / Embedded Software Developer to join our team supporting a cutting-edge space and satellite program. This hybrid role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in agile environments and possesses deep technical expertise in embedded C++ development within real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as VxWorks. The successful candidate will split their time between engineering responsibilities and hands-on software development, ensuring agile best practices are followed while contributing directly to mission-critical software components.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Guide the team on Agile principles and help remove impediments to progress.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to ensure backlog clarity and prioritization.
- Track and report team metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and transparency.
- Utilize Git for version control and collaboration across development teams.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software in C++ for real-time systems.
- Work within the VxWorks RTOS environment to support satellite and space system functionality.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging of embedded systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers and other developers to meet performance and reliability requirements.
- Ensure compliance with software development standards and documentation.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $90.00 / hr.
