Scope of Responsibility : The Director of Finance is an active business partner with the management team. This position will report to the VP of Finance and is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of the financial management aspects of the business and will provide strategic financial input to the management team. This person will work collaboratively with leadership to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies to meet the company's business and financial objectives. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting and control function for the business, reports operational results and provides management direction to accounting functions.
Essential Duties :
- Responsible for budgeting (Operating and Capital), forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
- Responsible for the preparation of the financial reporting and monthly metric package
- Performs analysis of the companys actual operating results vs. budget and forecast
- Monitor expected gross margin through project completion to identify any variances to budget
- Oversee cost accounting of all jobs, identify efficiency opportunities and make recommendations to management team
- Responsible for preparation and reporting of business unit sales backlog
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization's objectives
- Continually develop reporting and forecasting tools to better identify business risks and opportunities
- Develop, maintain and update forecast models of the companys balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows to support parent reporting requirements
- Assist in the development and preparation of financial models, key performance indicators, and other decision support tools to management
- Work with manufacturing operations to drive continuous improvement and visual metrics
- Assess ROI & maintenance capital expenditure projects and provide guidance to operations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to drive special projects and initiatives
- Facilitates annual physical inventory audits and acts as liaison with external auditors
- Own and manage the month-end and year-end closing process and related deadlines
- Provides guidance and coaching to staff in their professional development
- Assist accounting staff in researching and documenting accounting issues or errors as they arise and follow through to resolution
- Ensures compliance with the Companys accounting policies
- Where applicable, assist in any regulatory or audit requirements

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA in Accounting or Finance preferredCPA requiredExperience :
8-10 years of strong well-rounded finance & accounting experience and three years of management experience in a financial position with significant financial reporting, analysis responsibilityHands on experience working with manufacturing operationsExperience in job-based / project (percentage of completion) accountingExperience with ERP systemsSkills & Abilities :
