Salary : $54.43 - $56.43 / hour
The RN Supervisor supervises the day-to-day nursing care delivered to residents during their shift. Such supervision must be done in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be required by the Director of Nursing to ensure that the highest dgreee of quality care is maintained at all times.
The job functions of the RN Supervisor include :
Administrative Duties
- Directing the day-to-day functions of employees
- Overseeing residents nursing services
- Participating in quality assessment and assurance programs
- Responding in a timely manner to communications from all sources
- Reporting problems, discrepancies, and concerns to supervisors
- Following and enforcing policies and protocols for resident care
- Complying with all code of conduct policies and personnel programs
- Communicating the mission, ethics, and goals of UCC Homes
- Documenting Medicare servicves as assigned
- Completing accidents and incident reports and related charting
- Completing electronic and manual documentation accurately
- Making rounds to ensure completion of work assignments
- Receiving and transcribing doctor orders
- Ordering, preparing, and administering medications and treatments
- Ensuring controlled substance records are accurate, reporting and reconciling discrepancies
- Receiving and giving shift-to-shift reports
- Conveying necessary information to the nursing team
- Ensuring that Residents' Rights are protected
- Resolving resident concerns and complaints
- Reporting allegations of resident abuse, neglect, or misappropriation
- Completing resident assessments
- Participating in the development and implementation of care plans and discharge plans
- Participating in clinical rounds as assigned
- Ensuring ongoing assessments of residents' overall conditions, observing for side effects, pain, emotional status, changes in condition, etc.; notifying physician as appropriate
- Writing preliminary resident care plan based on admissions assessment
- Assisting the RNAC with completion of MDS and supporting documentation
- Assisting as an LPN or CNA on the nursing schedule to ensure staffing requirements are met per regulations
Requirements :
Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.Must possess the ability / willingness to learn basic computer skills.Must be able to summarize and relate information concerning a resident's condition.Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel, and the general public.Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to carry such weight a minimum distance of 25 feet.May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.Using a mechanical device, must regularly be able to push, pull, or move weight in excess of 100 pounds a distance of 300 feet.Must be able to relate to and work with persons who exhibit emotional instability, confusion, or at times, hostility.Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
