As the Director of Engineering, you'll solve real problems in the healthcare industry to help patients receive the medications they need to live healthy lives. Your primary responsibility is to build, develop, and lead high-performing development teams. Your teams are successful when quickly and efficiently solving tough customer problems with scalable, reliable, secure products that customers love to use. This position will be responsible for our established prior authorization products that are focused on supporting health care providers through the PA submission and appeals process. This role will work in partnership with other teams across the company. As a key engineering leader in our product portfolio, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders and leaders across the organization and in our industry, with significant opportunity to take on responsibility, continue learning, and mentor others.

What You'll Do :

• Build and lead exceptional, high-performing engineering teams :
• Build strong relationships with product, UX, and analytics teams to foster empowered product delivery teams.
• Encourage an "outcomes over output" mindset, where teams are accountable for success metrics, rewarded for aiming high, and empowered to solve meaningful problems.
• Cultivate a team dynamic that promotes self-organization and continual improvement.
• Provide the teams input and feedback on their processes and help the teams implement adjustments.
• Foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Manage careers of team members, directly or through managers, including professional growth, mentoring, performance evaluations, and feedback.
• Make sure to always be a great teammate to your peers across the company, balancing the needs of your area with those of other teams. This includes appropriate participation in cross-product processes and initiatives.
• Encourage professional development and industry engagement for technical leaders, including participation in professional organizations relevant to our technology and customers.
• Actively participate in customer project activities as a senior technical sponsor.

About You :

Minimum Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position $152,300 - $253,900
