Description :

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner for locum Wound Care coverage.

The coverage is for gaps in physician staffing due to permanent hires.

The average number of patients per day ranges from 15 to 30.

The documentation system used is Epic.

This role involves various responsibilities related to wound care.

Duties include treating skin reactions and managing vascular ulcers.

You will be responsible for preventing skin breakdown and providing comprehensive wound management.

The role also requires educating patients and their support on care techniques.

Treating draining wounds and implementing preventative actions is critical.

Instruction on proper wound dressing and ulcer prevention will be provided.

Supervision of hyperbaric oxygen treatment is part of the duties.

Types of wounds treated include acute, surgical, traumatic, and chronic wounds.

Ulcers treated will comprise arterial, pressure, venous insufficiency, and diabetic ulcers.

Other conditions may include pilonidal cysts, gangrene, radiation injury, and burns.

Treatments used will involve bioengineered skin, debridement, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
