Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , caring for a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, alongside medical overflow cases .As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you will gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and advanced care.

Use the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, and implementing personalized care interventions.Anticipate significant changes in patient conditions and adapt care plans accordingly.Implement strategies focused on patient safety and risk reduction.Coordinate discharge planning utilizing an interdisciplinary approach.Provide ongoing evaluation of patient and unit outcomes, taking action as necessary.Communicate effectively and foster collaboration within the healthcare team.Promote a culture of safety and report patient safety events timely.Utilize ethical decision-making to collaborate with the care team.Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.Participate in ongoing professional development and fulfill educational requirements.Demonstrate knowledge necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited program in Nursing.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
