Job Overview

Zapas Construction is hiring experienced Plumbing Mechanics to support ongoing residential, commercial, and public-sector projects throughout New York City. This role involves hands-on work installing and servicing plumbing systems under the direction of a foreman. You will be responsible for accurate pipe assembly, fixture installation, pressure testing, and contributing to jobsite efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Install and service water, waste, vent, storm, and gas piping systems per specifications.

Cut, thread, solder, and assemble copper, cast iron, PVC, and steel pipe materials.

Set and connect plumbing fixtures, valves, and specialty equipment.

Assist with pressure tests and prepare systems for DOB inspections.

Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, clean work environment.

Support overall jobsite workflow and mentor apprentices as needed.

Report progress, challenges, and material needs to the Project Foreman.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of plumbing experience in NYC commercial, multi-family, or public-sector projects.

Working knowledge of NYC Plumbing Code and DOB inspection procedures.

OSHA 30 and Scaffold User certifications are required.

Gas Qualification (Full or Limited) is preferred.

Must supply and maintain a complete set of appropriate hand tools.

Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability on job sites

Schedule

Full-Time

Monday to Friday, with some overtime and occasional weekend work as needed.

Work Location

Projects located throughout New York City, NY

On-site fieldwork under the supervision of a Foreman.
