Shipfitter - Advanced

Job Description / Requirements : Must have 4 years commercial / naval experience as a first class Shipfitter. Multi-Pass Tack Welding. Burning-Oxygen / Propane Burning Torch, Heating-Oxygen / Propane Heating Torch.

Comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches to include weld symbols, material types, datum and reference lines.

Understand fractional dimensions as with the use of a ruler, layoff piece parts for fabrication and assembly, assemble structural piece parts in accordance with specifications in a quality manner, use Molded Lines and Ship Reference Lines to execute required work. Use vibratory tools :

Air Carbon Arc Gouging. Ability to Erect, Set and Makeup Complex-shaped Shell Plates, Decks, Bulkheads, Longitudinals, trunks

Install and Replace Hull Inserts and Penetrations

Must be able to climb up and down vertical ladders, bend, squat, kneel, work in confined spaces & around moving equipment. Requirements :

Must be at least 18 years of age

Pass background check and urinalysis

Strong Work Ethic

Must be able to lift 50lbs Willing to work on / around ships
