A Combination Inspector is an essential member of our team and we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLV'S growing success!

This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Land Development and Community Services department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification, for up to one hundred eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.

The role inspects commercial building construction, renovation in progress and upon completion to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, ordinances and regulations. Performs inspections, investigates and analyzes problems and recommends solutions for more complex systems and construction; resolves issues relating to code compliance.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience as a Building, Electrical, Mechanical or Plumbing Inspector. Licenses and certifications required include possession of International Code Council (ICC) certification in all four inspection areas (building, electrical, mechanical and plumbing) or ICC Combination Inspector from Legacy Codes. Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record and ability to obtain appropriate Nevada state driver's license within required time frame.

The selection process includes a screening of the application/resume, an oral board interview (weighted 100%, passing score 70%), and a pre-employment screening which includes local & state criminal history checks, federal criminal history checks via submission of fingerprints, and drug screening. Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
