Network Engineer I
We are seeking a Network Engineer to support routing, switching, wireless access, and overall network operations within a primarily Cisco-based environment. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining enterprise network solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring reliable connectivity across the organization. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on networking experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a solid understanding of OSPF, BGP, and general Cisco networking technologies.
Responsibilities
- Implement routing and switching configurations to enable communication across enterprise network devices (routers, switches, access points, endpoints).
- Provide advanced network troubleshooting by interpreting alerts, logs, and performance metrics to diagnose, resolve, and recommend improvements.
- Support operations within a Cisco-centric environment, including SD-WAN, Meraki Access Points, and core routing / switching equipment.
- Assist in the gradual transition away from EIGRP by supporting updated routing standards and contributing knowledge to modernization efforts.
- Monitor network health and performance using tools such as PRDG.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize Power over Ethernet (PoE) capabilities, including Power Save and Intelligent Power Management features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network resiliency, availability, and alignment with organizational requirements.
Must-Haves
4+ Years of blending professional experience in network administration and engineeringDemonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching.Proficiency with OSPF and working knowledge of BGP routing protocols.Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose network issues using logs, alerts, and performance metrics, with a track record of guiding incidents through resolution.Experience in Cisco-based environments, including general routing / switching and Cisco Meraki wireless.Nice-to-Haves
Experience with Cisco ACI or Cisco ISE.Light or foundational knowledge of EIGRP, even without production experience.Exposure to Cisco SD-WAN.Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.Experience with scripting or automation tools.
