Location : Nashville, Tennessee (with occasional travel to project sites)

Salary Range : $85,000 - $120,000

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established general contractor based in Tennessee, specializing in a diverse range of project types, including retail, restaurant, and commercial construction. This company focuses primarily on ground-up projects ranging from $1M to $10M. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team and contribute to the accurate estimating and successful execution of their varied and exciting projects.

Job Description :

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in the pre-construction phase of each project, providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for retail, restaurant, and commercial ground-up projects. You will be responsible for reviewing project plans, preparing bid proposals, and working closely with project teams to ensure each project is bid competitively and accurately. This is a hands-on role requiring strong construction knowledge, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities :

Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and construction documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.

Prepare detailed estimates for all phases of construction, including materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and project information.

Create comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring all scope items are clearly outlined and accurately priced.

Perform value engineering and suggest cost-effective alternatives when necessary.

Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure competitive pricing.

Monitor project budgets throughout the life cycle of each project and provide updates or adjustments as required.

Review and reconcile estimates with actual project costs once projects are completed.

Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, particularly with retail, restaurant, and commercial ground-up projects.

Strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and processes.

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, RSMeans, Buildertrend) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple estimates concurrently.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, working well with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Familiarity with building codes, local regulations, and construction safety standards is a plus.
