As a Security Officer - Armed Badge Control Government in Alexandria, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer, where you'll actively monitor and patrol a government location to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain visible throughout your assigned area, interact with the public, and provide outstanding customer service while responding to various situations. What You'll Do :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and observe for suspicious or unusual behavior, reporting findings as required.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential security-related concerns.
  • Communicate and collaborate with local law enforcement and / or emergency responders as needed.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs as required by Allied Universal and the location.
  • Follow all protocols regarding the handling and carrying of firearms as outlined by Allied Universal and client policies.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and / or baton is preferred.
  • Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and / or first aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
