DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for conducting technical inspections of materials and workmanship on road and bridge construction projects. These projects may involve activities such as roadway overlays, widening, stabilization, earthwork, guide rail installation, and drainage. Your expertise will be crucial in interpreting contract requirements by analyzing specifications and drawings, as well as employing various testing and inspection methods. It is vital to exercise independent judgment for on-site technical decisions while collaborating with contractors and other personnel across all six counties in District 5.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
• Overtime and travel as needed
• Telework : You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, ad-hoc basis upon successful completion of the probationary and training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allentown. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. • Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).
