Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Scrub and Circulate skills for an adult to geriatric population in a hospital setting, requiring a GA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work in the main Operating Room of a hospital

Surgical specialties include General, Neuro, Spine, Ortho, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, and Colorectal

Patient population is adults to geriatrics

16 operating rooms with an average daily census of 35 cases

Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, and DaVinci XI robotic systems

Four 10-hour day shifts weekly, 6 : 30 to 17 : 00

Average 2-3 weekend shifts per contract period

Floating is rare but may be required

On-call requirement is 7-8 calls per 6 weeks plus 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts

Responsibilities include intraoperative patient care, circulating, and scrubbing for a variety of surgical services

Facility-provided scrubs are required

No blocked scheduling allowed

First-time travelers are accepted

Holiday coverage required according to contract assignment period

Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed; no RTO during the first week of assignment

Full compliance with onboarding is mandatory for timely start due to bi-weekly orientation

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Travel pairs cannot be assigned to the same shift on the same unit

Return travelers must complete a successful assignment outside the system before rebooking if previously unable to return

Requirements

Active GA or compact state RN license

Current BLS certification required

Minimum of 1 year OR nursing experience required

Experience circulating and scrubbing required

Epic EMR experience preferred

Must provide two supervisory references for consideration

Perm / PRN staff must be away for 1 full year from related facilities to be eligible as travelers
