About the role

The Lead Barista is a vital member of the caf team, responsible for fostering a culture of excellence while delivering exceptional coffee experiences. They are expected to consistently demonstrate professional coffee skills including espresso preparation, latte art, and proper brewing techniques. Lead Baristas uphold Ascension Coffee's standards by sharing their expertise, educating both team members and guests, and ensuring consistency and quality in every cup. This is an hourly position. Reports to Cafe Leadership Team.

What you'll do

• Skillfully prepare specialty coffee, tea, and liquor beverages to Ascension standards.
• Deliver exceptional hospitality, ensuring the highest level of guest service.
• Maintain and troubleshoot coffee equipment, resolving basic issues.
• Continuously expand knowledge in specialty coffee, tea, alcohol, and hospitality.
• Receive and apply feedback effectively, demonstrating adaptability.
• Build strong interpersonal connections with team members of all skill levels.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to inspire and align teams.
• Foster an inclusive, high-quality caf culture through thoughtful leadership.
